Negative Reinforcement Upcoming V1.001 Release


Hi all!

Figured I'd just drop a quick note regarding updates to this - I had hoped to have pushed a polish update to this already, but I'd forgotten that Gamejam entries are locked up until the end of the voting period, so that's on hold until 01/03/25.

As for what is going to be updated:-

New Stage Mechanics

I'm completely replacing stages 29, 32, 36, 37, 42, 46, 49 and 55 with things I didn't have time to implement during the Jam period. Honestly, those original stages are either roadblock-levels of frustrating or a little to similar to multiple other stages. The replacements mostly lean into puzzle-style mechanics more than navigation challenges, so hopefully be a little more interesting.

Minor Stage Updates

I've tweaked a few of the other stages after replaying through the full game again - I've relaxed a couple of timers, truncated or rearranged a couple which went on a bit too long, made a few alterations to graphics to make a couple of things a little clearer. Minor stuff mostly, but makes things a little more pleasant.

Post-Game Content

I've added a small minigame for those who suffer clear every stage of the main game. It's... pretty dumb.

I'd noticed it due to some traffic from Libsyn yesterday - it caused me no end of confusion for a while as I couldn't remember seeing that listed when I listened to the most recent podcast episode last week!
