The Elves are Revolting!
Well, more like escaping. The Devil King Magumon has been rounding all the Elves up and throwing them in his dungeon for some unknown but probably really nefarious reason. Turns out it's surprisingly easy to do as well, as those Elves have really let themselves go lately, doing nothing but taking quiet country strolls and generally slacking off, procrastinating about doing all those things Elves normally do like practising with a bow or learning magic in that special kind of way that only people who live for the best part of a thousand years can manage.
Well, all except the precocious, lively, clever, smart and sprightly 42 year old (look, that's like 14 in Elf Years) Lilac, who has been trying to teach herself Levitation Magic. She may not yet have perfect control over it, but she did manage to "liberate" a key from a guard and open the cell doors.
If only Magumon hadn't installed all those Seeing Eyes of Evaporation all over his castle. which will provide what can only be described as a Horrible Laser Death to all living things crossing through their line of sights. But hey, maybe Lilac can levitate some Not Living Things just long enough to block the passing Elves from view...
40 entire stages of Stuff Moving Action for your Playdate, made for PlayJam3.
How To Play
Some Elves walk across the screen. Use the Crank to move the hovering objects under the Eyes as the Elves pass under them so that they aren't shot with a laser.
Later stages introduce SuiSlimes, who will explode and kill an Elf on contact, but hey, they are Living Things, so maybe those Eyes will laser those as well?
There's also Mines, which will explode the first thing that comes in contact with them. You can probably figure it out if you get that far.
You can press the A button to immediately fail a stage if things aren't going well and you want to restart.
PlayJam3 Notes
The game reuses some UI assets for Queen of (Mine) Carts, including a lot of the menu code. Most the sound effects (excluding music) are reused from there as well. Explosions are from Escapepion. Font is based on the general use font I use for most my Playdate stuff.

can i play the playdate games on pc?
There's a Playdate Simulator as part of the Playdate SDK you can download from the official Playdate site that can be used to play packaged games. That said, it's a bit of a miserable experience for anything like this game which uses the Playdates Crank input as the primary gameplay mechanism as there's not really a good substitute for it as part of the standard PC input.
ok
i don't understand
but ok
Seems like it crashed on one of the later levels upon attempted completion, but otherwise a fun game :)
Thanks for the crash report!
Not entirely sure what that could be. The only thing I've got an inkling that it could be related to is an odd SDK bug relating to collision routines that is an absolutely nightmare to get to reoccur consistently. I'll try sticking the work around I'm using in another project into this when I get a minute.
I try it it’s pretty COOL
Amazing artwork. If playing on SDK, make sure to update it. If you do, it works really well and has fun gameplay concept.
